My extra-cool DOS game won't run under Windows

Intended For
Windows XP
Windows 2000
Windows Me
Windows 98
Windows 95
Many DOS games simply won't run under Windows 9x/Me, and I'll bet you'll never find one that will run under Windows 2000 or XP. Here are some tips:
  • Try turning off your soundblaster-type sound effects.
  • Try booting off a Windows Startup disk (double-click Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, and choose the Startup Disk tab).
  • See if the game requires drivers for your sound card, CD drive, video card, or anything else. Remember, Windows isn't around to load all the drivers for you!
