Could be a number of things. Sometime a certain program can cause this behavior if 
it conflicts with something else. The number of programs Windows loads can affect 
slow start up also. Lower amounts of Ram(memory)can also be a factor. A virus or 
malware
can cause slowness. Here are a couple of places to start.
First is a Google search on Windows Startup Programs.
Second is a Free Malware Scanner to download and run.
