simple file sharing with passwords -- possible?

I have a set of five computers in the same workgroup and one computer has a shared folder on it, which the other four map to as "Z:". Trouble is, other computers on the larger network can all access this share. Is there any way to set a password on the folder?

I have researched this, and the trouble seems to be that the "server" (the computer with the shared folder) is running XP Home rather than Pro. I just want to make it so that only the four computers in the workgroup have access to the folder. Whether that means 1) requiring a password to access the workgroup, 2) manually adding those four computers to some kind of "access list", or 3) having a password on the folder like I said. Is there ANY way to do this? Creative solutions welcome.

Thanks so much; I can't seem to find a solution.
