Agree w/ Rich on symNRT.
The download for Windows 7 (not 8) is usually an iso file, meaning an image of an
installation DVD. You download it, then use DVD burning software to make a DVD from
it, then you install from the DVD you just made.
If you have the popular Roxio/Sonic/Nero programs installed, the retail versions
should be able to burn a DVD from iso. IIRC some of the editions that come free
preinstalled do not have the ability to brun from an image file, so you have to hit
the legitimate download sites to see if there are any freeware/shareware iso burners
available.
