Just Me, Hi. Totally overwhelmed by your generous and full of complexities/extensive
crash course to my free virus question. You are correct is saying I must not rely
on one virus scan tool.
I am embarrassed despite your generousity to inform
you that I have zero knowledge or comprehension of how I could possibly proceed to
use such wisdom you so kindly shared with me.
I am basically just a reader
of some favorite blogs in the political arena and am unskilled in the field of computers.
I wish I had something of value to give to learn the knowledge and skill you bring.
I have slowly learned some tasks that I sometimes come accross that need tinkering
with my computer, but nothing like what you write about.
In the more than
10 years with my PC, I even got rid of my Norton
virus protection, because like you say, I found it only troublesome and interferred
with my attempts to run scans -- too much hassle to be fair.
I simply
ask Google for free virus scans and get a list of some you have mentioned
here. It is sometimes frustrating because most want to sell a package or another,
but never really offer a free
scan "for free", which is not surprising. Being
cheap has nothing to do with my searching for free
virus scans. I simply cannot afford or have the appetite to engage in yearly
contracts with packages
that will only serve as a "once in a while" virus scan..That
is all I need really.
However, Just Me I do not mean to under appreciate
the precious time you must have used to prepare such eye opening lesson -- that left
my head reeling to be honest. (by an chance, can i get a "free" course on the curriculum
you sent me?)
I am serious. I get the impression that you spend a lot
of time on a computer. I will go over everything you sent. I will attempt to engage
some of the tools you suggested in areas that i may need.
