I have a comment about Remove
the Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant (ClickOnce) Firefox Extension:
In addition to the statements regarding this issue, one will need to consider two
other steps:
1) When the extension is removed, windows Microsoft Update will download the NET
Framework Assistant a second time and it will try and get you to re-install it.
2) Work Around Solution: When you receive the notice in the tray, open the download
updater and choose the custom installation option. Un-check the extension down load
box. A pop-message will appear reminding you about the download. Check, “Do not remind
me”. Then you done.
Consideration: Until we can get further clarification on the true extent of the vulnerability
and its ramifications as well as if the extension is truly warranted, you can always
go back and re-download the extension if needed. It will need to be determined if
a patch is available for the issue.
In the event you need to reinstall at a latter date, go back to the Microsoft update
website and uncheck the hidden downloads that have not been installed.
