I use it as an occasional internet connection in my bedroom. Otherwise all my PCs are out in my shop. My IBM laptop came with Windows 2000 .I did SP-4 to it. Works fine. I have never had any serious trouble with it. I have a AV program and the laptop connects through a wireless router that has a firewall. As yet, I see no reason to install XP on it.
